DM0506 Low Speed Centrifuge
Low-speed centrifugation sits at the front end of most clinical and biochemical workflows. The DM0506 is positioned for that routine separation step, where consistency and documentation matter more than maximum speed.
The DM0506 covers a speed range of 300 to 5000 rpm, in 10 rpm increments, with a maximum RCF of 2600×g and stated speed accuracy of ±20 rpm. Speed can be set and displayed in either RPM or G-force, so protocols written in either unit can be entered directly.
Two preloaded programs, P1 and P2, allow a procedure to be started with one key, and two deceleration speeds are available. Run time ranges from 30 seconds to 99 minutes, with a continuous mode. The unit uses a maintenance-free brushless DC motor.
The stated applications are serum and plasma separation, urine and stool processing, and clinical-sample pretreatment. Listed rotor capacity covers 1.5–5 mL, 7 mL, 10 mL and 15 mL tubes, six at a time, with support for A6-15P and A4-50P rotor configurations.
Target users span hospital laboratories, primary-care and community hospitals, physical-examination centers, blood banks, IVD operations, third-party medical laboratories, CDCs, and university or medical research institutions. The common thread is routine, repeat separation rather than high-throughput processing.
Safety features include door interlock, overspeed detection and automatic internal diagnosis, with automatic lid-lock release after a run. The stated certifications are CE, UKCA, FCC, ICES, CB and cTUVus. Power input is single-phase 100–240 V, 50/60 Hz, 70 W, and the unit measures 300×240×180 mm at 5.2 kg.
For procurement, the open variables are rotor selection and documentation. The table lists the rotor type and program memory as unspecified, so buyers should confirm which rotor ships with the unit and how the stated certifications map to their jurisdiction before purchase.
A centrifuge in this class is judged by whether it fits an existing tube inventory and protocol. Checking rotor compatibility, run-time range and certification paperwork against the lab’s own standard operating procedures is the practical step before committing.
Why it matters:
Routine benchtop centrifuges quietly set the pace of sample processing in small and mid-sized labs. Specifications that look minor on paper — deceleration settings, RPM/RCF switching, documented safety certification — determine whether a unit integrates cleanly or creates extra verification work.
