The Lab Oven as Industrial Workhorse: TOP’s WHL-85B

Constant-Temperature Drying Oven Incubator

A 85-liter drying oven manufactured in Zhejiang at a rate of 1,000 units per month, with CE certification and a nickel-chromium heater, reveals the standardized backbone of China’s lab equipment supply chain.

Natural convection is the key design decision here. By avoiding forced-air circulation, the WHL-85B eliminates the risk of disturbing fine powders or lightweight samples—a critical requirement for pharmaceutical blending, food ingredient testing, and materials research where mass loss would corrupt results.

The specs back this up: a temperature range from 10°C above ambient to 300°C, with 0.1°C resolution and ±1°C fluctuation. A PID micro-computer controller manages the thermal load, while the dual digital display allows operators to track setpoint and actual temperature simultaneously—a small ergonomic detail that reduces error during extended curing or drying cycles.

Construction is practical: a mirror-finished 304-grade stainless steel interior with rounded corners for cleaning, and cold-rolled steel exterior with electrostatic coating. The double-glass observation window and silicon rubber seal maintain thermal integrity without sacrificing visual access. Two shelves are standard, with capacity for up to eight, each rated for 15 kg.

Safety features are comprehensive. Over-temperature alarm, sensor deviation correction, self-tuning for overshoot, and parameter lockout are all included. The timer runs to 9,999 minutes with a “wait” function—meaning the countdown only begins once the chamber reaches setpoint, a feature often missing from budget alternatives.

Manufactured in an ISO-accredited facility in Zhejiang Province, with monthly production of 1,000 units, the WHL-85B is not a niche instrument. It is a volume product aimed at quality control labs, academic departments, and healthcare facilities in markets where CE certification is a procurement prerequisite.

The 2.0 kW power draw and 85-liter chamber place it squarely in the mid-range segment—large enough for batch processing, small enough for benchtop installation. Customization is available on request, but the standard configuration already addresses the most common failure points in general-purpose drying: uneven temperature, airflow contamination, and poor insulation.

For procurement managers, the calculation is straightforward: a CE-certified, stainless steel oven from a manufacturer with proven output capacity, at a price point that undercuts European equivalents by a significant margin. The real value is in the consistency of the thermal profile, not the brand name.

Why it matters:
This oven is typical of China’s lab equipment export strategy: mid-range specs, CE certification, and high-volume production. For buyers in cost-sensitive markets, it offers a reliable path to standardizing lab infrastructure without paying a premium for legacy European brands.
