D2012 Plus High Speed Micro Centrifuges
In molecular-biology labs, benchtop centrifuges run constantly, so rotor fit and documented safety certifications often decide procurement more than peak speed does.
The D2012 Plus is a benchtop micro centrifuge driven by a brushless DC motor, reaching 15,000 rpm at a maximum RCF of 15,100×g. Documented run time spans 30 seconds to 99 minutes, with a continuous option.
Rotor capacity is stated as 0.2 mL, 0.5 mL, 1.5 mL and 2 mL tubes, twelve positions. The listed applications cover nucleic-acid purification, PCR/qPCR preparation, protein and cell precipitation and microbial collection.
Speed accuracy is given as ±20 rpm, acceleration 11 seconds and braking 9 seconds. A pulse function supports short spins, and the LCD reports speed or RCF, switchable.
Safety features listed include door interlock, over-speed and over-temperature detection and automatic internal diagnosis. Noise is rated at or below 54 dB, and the unit weighs 6 kg at 255×245×140 mm.
The certification claim is specific: CE, UKCA, FCC, ICES and RoHS compliance, plus CB and cTUVus. Buyers should confirm which certificates apply to the exact voltage variant ordered, since the input does not break this down by region.
The specifications table shows a blank rotor-type field and an empty applications row. That leaves rotor configuration and bundle contents to be verified against the supplier quotation before purchase.
The gap between the applications narrative and the blank specification rows is the practical procurement question: confirm which rotors, adapters and certificates ship with the unit.
Why it matters:
Rotor inventory and certificate scope determine whether a centrifuge is usable on day one, so both belong in the written quotation rather than the marketing page.
