Diarrhoeal disease is one of the leading causes of illness and death among children under five years of age. RVs is proven to be a major cause of diarrhea in infants under 5 years of age worldwide, as well as in many mammals and birds. So far, RVs can be divided into 10 groups A~J, of which groups A~C and H can infect humans and animals, while groups D~G, I and J are only found in animals. RVAs infection can lead to severe gastroenteritis in infants and young children. After infection, diarrhea, vomiting, dehydration and other symptoms may occur, and electrolyte disorder or even death may occur in severe cases. Group B Rotavirus can cause diarrhea epidemic in adults. Group C Rotaviruses, the second most common type of Rotavirus, were first discovered in pigs in 1980 and in humans in 1982.
